Antenna Cable

For the transmission between an antenna (WiFi antenna, 5G antennam 4G antenna, 3G antenna etc.) and a terminal for example a WiFi router, 5G, 4G or 3G router, a WiFi PCI adaptor or USB dongle with external antenna connector a coaxial antenna cable is required.

There are several different coaxial cable types with varying characteristics. We manufacture our antenna cables on the basis of RF-240 cable which in our view brings an optimal relationship between loss, bending radius and manageable costs. The antenna cables are assembled by hand in our company. This way, we can ensure optimal quality and respond individually to customer requests. Even large production quantities are no problem for us.

There are various connector types. If you are unsure which coaxial connector you need for your application, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can help you.

It sounds so easy: You install a WiFi router, connnect the devices, pay the monthly flat rate to the network provider and can surf the Internet. The reality looks different in many cases unfortunately. The Internet connection hooks or can not be set up in some parts of the house. As a consequence, there is plenty of frustration free on top. Above all, who relies on the Internet as an entrepreneur or freelancer, a permanent failure or a delay of the stable connection can also be expensive. But why is that?

First of all, of course, all components should meet a certain quality standard and be able to communicate properly with each other. But even if this condition is met, a stable connection to the Internet is not always guaranteed if, for example, disruptive factors are present or long distances are to be covered. Especially with the latter, mostly WiFi antennas are used in order to achieve a sustained higher range of the WiFi router.

Increasing the WiFi range using a WiFi antenna and an antenna cable
Depending on which conditions exist at the location, you can increase the range of an existing wireless network with either a directional or an omnidirectional antenna. In addition, there is a combination of both, the so-called sector antenna. Although the directional antenna has the highest range, it must be precisely aligned in order to build a stable signal. The omnidirectional antenna offers less range, but instead transmits more flatly. It is best to install the WiFi antennas high up in order to minimize potential interference and its influence as much as possible. The connection to the WiFi router needs to be made via an coaxial antenna cable. In order to lose the increase in range by the antenna but not by the attenuation of the antenna cable, you should pay attention to the purchase and choose length, thickness and nature of the antenna cable exactly. Basically, the thinner the cable, the higher the attenuation, which is expressed in decibels. At a higher frequency, the attenuation also increases. One of the factors should therefore be optimized. Since the frequency in the WiFi range with 2.4 GHz and / or 5 GHz is a given measure, thin cables should be used thus only on short or in very good quality on medium distances up to 5 meters. For longer distances, thicker cables should be used. In the ideal case, distances of up to 20 meters can be overcome, so that the WiFi antenna can be easily placed in the most optimal location of the building. For thicker cables, however, it should be noted that they have a larger bending radius, which must be taken into account during installation. In addition, pigtails are required as plug-in adapters in order to be able to connect thicker cables to the small sockets of the components. Whether the handle on a more expensive high-quality thinner cable is cost-effective and financially worthwhile, must be decided on a case-by-case basis. Our customer service is always happy to assist you in selecting a suitable antenna cable!

Various antenna cables
By default you will find the RF-240 coaxial antenna cable in the WiFi-Shop24, which is absolutely convincing in terms of both quality requirements and price. We sell it both as a piece by the meter in the desired length, as a 100 meter cable reel or individually configured and already finished with the appropriate plugs provided. You get both low loss and super low-loss aerial cables for longer distances.

Before you buy, you should not only plan exactly which route you need to overcome with the cable and for a corresponding high quality (for example, Super Low Loss on long distances), but also pay attention to what plugs or connector combinations you need. Standard are N-type plugs (on N-type, usually standard for thicker cables) and SMA-type plugs (SMA-type, standard on most routers). In the right combination of antenna and cable, the range can be easily increased and a permanently stable connection to the Internet can be established.
