Ethernet Patch Panel
A patch panel works as a connecting element between network cables / structure and ethernet switches in network structures.
A patch panel offers a series of numbered RJ-45 connectors (also called ports) at the front. A patch cable is used to connect the port to an, for example, ethernet switch.
On the back of the patch panel, the cable, which establish the connections to the example fixed ethernet outlets in a building are feed into the patch panel and then connected via LSA terminals with the respective port of the front.
The essential task of patch panels is to provide a connection between the rigid network cable which is permanently installed into the building walls, and a flexible patch cable which used to connect the network cable to a selected ethernet switch.
