5G Antennas
The new 5G standard offers network operators, providers and end users a new level in mobile data transmission. The new 5G high-speed network is already supported by some end devices, e.g. Smartphones / cell phones and tablets. It is only a matter of time before the 5G network is fully available in Europe. We already offer special antennas that support the 5G frequency ranges in addition to the 4G / LTE frequencies and are therefore compatible both with the current 4G / LTE standard and with the future of mobile data transmission, the 5G network. Here we offer both omnidirectional and directional antennas. If you have ay question or if you need asssistance to choose the prefect antenna for your personal case, please contact us! We are very happy to help you!
Outdoor antenna or indoor antenna?
The installation of a 5G outdoor antenna is usually more complex than installing an indoor antenna. Antenna cables have to be laid, the router may have to be positioned differently and you may even have to drill through a window frame or through a window lead-through. In general, the use of a 5G external antenna is much more effective and therefore recommended. If only a simple, slight reinforcement of the data connection is required, a simple antenna for indoor use can also be sufficient. There are various designs from the 5G rod antenna which can be screwed directly onto the router to the designer antenna.
Which 5G antenna is best used in the city?
In dense urban areas, it is recommended for the "normal" user of a data connection to use a 5G omnidirectional antenna in our view in order to capture as many signal relations as possible. A 5G directional antenna cannot necessarily be aligned directly with a clear field of view on the nearest transmission mast and could therefore even be counterproductive. Since a 5G omnidirectional transmitter transmits and listens evenly in all directions, the chance of receiving a stable, significantly improved signal is much higher. Experienced users can of course also use a 5G directional antenna to capture the data signal at a reflection point. In a less dense urban area, the use of a directional antenna can be more effective. Here, too, it is generally advisable to use the antenna as an external antenna and to mount it on the roof, on the house wall or chimney. We also offer corresponding mounting accessories.
Which 5G antenna do you choose in rural areas?
Directional antennas can be used very well in rural areas, since there is often a direct or almost direct line of sight between the antenna and the transmission mast. Once installed and aligned permanently in the outdoor area, a directional antenna provides a constant reading. A directional antenna has a much longer range than an omnidirectional antenna due to the signal bundling. Especially in rural, often poorly developed areas, the use of a permanently installed and well-aligned 5G directional antenna therefore leads to a much better result.
But also here applies: exceptions confirm the rule :)
Use of a 5G antenna in shipping, as a camper, globetrotter or in mobile operation in other vehicles?
Generally, an omnidirectional antenna makes a lot more sense here, since it does not have to be aligned separately. In shipping, on yachts, sailors and motor boats, attention should be paid to the materials used for the 5G antenna used. Salt water in particular clogs "simple" plastics and metals fairly quickly and massively, so that an antenna can no longer be used after a short time. Therefore there are extra antennas that are suitable for use under such conditions. For campers, trucks, caravans and motorhomes, the design and size of the 5G antenna are more likely to be in the foreground. Here, compact 5G antennas with sophisticated mounting systems or special vehicle antennas are more suitable.
